Natalie Ngau is a passionate advocate for mental health and neuroscience, and is committed to making meaningful contributions to her community. Natalie aspires to pursue a major in Neuroscience and behavior, envisioning a future dedicated to researching and advocating for mental health awareness, aiming to promote inclusivity on both local and global stages.

 

Born and raised in Hong Kong, Natalie has always been surrounded by a rich tapestry of cultures, inspiring her to indulge in a variety of passions and experiences. From a young age, she has been intrigued by the complexities of the human brain, particularly when she witnessed those around her grappling with mental health challenges. Natalie found her curiosity blossoming into a profound interest for Neuroscience, inspiring her to explore the functions of the brain and its effect on behavior and emotion. Natalie’s early exposure to discussions about mental health and diverse minds in her community ignited a passion for understanding and advocating for those with psychological issues, shaping her aspirations to make a difference in Neuroscience. 

 

To learn more about those around her, Natalie is making significant contributions in her community. In school, she is the president of the Neurodiversity club, where she leads initiatives to advocate for various neurological conditions and to promote inclusivity. Moreover, Natalie is the deputy secretary general of her school’s Model United Nations, honing her skills of diplomacy and public speaking through hosting the school’s annual conference. Natalie’s activities not only reflect her dedication to service and helping those around her, but also her desire to create a supportive environment for individuals from all sorts of backgrounds. 

 

Looking ahead, Natalie is determined to pursue a major in Neuroscience and behavior, aspiring to delve further into the complexities of the brain and its uniqueness to every individual. She envisions a future where she can research and advocate for mental health awareness on a larger scale. Natalie hopes to continue making meaningful contributions to society, ultimately helping to destigmatize neurological conditions in the local and international community.
